The Body is You

Sidney Lampayan’s 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘉𝘰𝘥𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘠𝘰𝘶 is a craft dedicated to exploring the body and its connection to the world. The story, told through the format of an interactive game, launches an investigation into how the body is intertwined with identity, told through varying choices and multiple endings. She uses these experiences as a way to rejoin her memory and body in a process of self-healing and learning.

Lampayan collaborates with artists Althea Abesamis and Gabby Villos in this short online game, wherein the player assumes the role of a lost protagonist, simply finding a way to recollect themself.

This project is part of NO TRUE NORTH is a collection of five projects comprising text and various other media by this year’s Grade 10 Creative Writing students, exploring the relationship of the body with space, where cartography may go beyond what is physical, existing structures that define direction lose meaning, and encourage us to construct our own understanding of the world.
